Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Kauai?

Kauai has remained unspoiled by the massive growth and congestion that has swept other popular Hawaiian Islands. The Island still holds much of the original charm and natural beauty that it has always claimed. The population of Kauai remains small and laid back–only 69,512 people call Kauai home. Many visitors discover they can totally relax and unwind here. This type of retreat can be difficult to find these days.

Why should I choose a private residence over a hotel?

Private residences range in size from two to four bedrooms and offer additional space for you and your guest to spread out and relax–in the living room, dining room, well-equipped kitchen and outdoor Lanai. All of our properties have pools available for your enjoyment. Moreover, many of our homes include a private pool and lanai that will be as tranquil as you desire.

At your private residence, you know the person staying in the other rooms of your home or Villa, you have the opportunity to entertain those of your choosing in a beautifully appointed venue. You can cook using fresh ingredients from the local fish market and farmers markets, or we will assist you in locating the perfect chef to create the Asian Fusion meal your palate has been craving.

With Private Hawaii, you will never settle for what is on a hotel’s menu. You won’t be assigned to a room, be limited to the items on a hotel menu, or choose between “activities” for the day.

Private Hawaii wants your vacation to be unique, private, and filled with special memories for you and your family. You decide when and where to venture out and explore.

Or you may decide your vacation is simply the guilty pleasure of retreating in the solitude of your private Hawaii. Shhhhhh—-we promise not to tell.

If you fly commercially you will land at the Lihue Airport. It will take you approximately fifteen to twenty minutes to drive from the airport to the Poipu area which is where the majority of our residences and Villas are located.

What is the best time of the year to visit Kauai?

Weather reports tell us that the warmest month in Kauai is August, the coolest is January and the month with the most precipitation is December. The average high in January is 78 degrees and in August is 85 degrees. Average precipitation in Lihue in December is 5.2 inches.
